Clean Architecture in .NET

This talk will cover the major challenges that face the software development industry (technical debt, entropy, and codebase rigidity) and the actual causes behind them. We will then discuss how the software industry has tried to address these challenges, and the shortcomings of those approaches. Next, we will present the concept of pattern-reuse and how it offers a powerful solution to these problems and others. Finally, we will discuss how pattern-reuse can be achieved and then demo (in C#) an example of it in action using a tool called Intent Architect.

Developing front-ends for line-of-business applications is full of predictable and repetitive patterns. Data grids, pagination, forms, validations, and modals / dialogs are just some of the often featured patterns that are used over and over throughout our applications. As we know, the same is true for back-end systems.

In this webinar we cover the basics through to the deeper nuances of Domain Modeling using Intent Architect, unpacking the various design concerns such as aggregates, entities, associations, inheritance and domain events, while discussing how these concepts map to different data storage paradigms. Additionally, we discuss Anemic vs Rich Domain Modeling, how to manage your business logic within the Domain and applying the principles and patterns of Domain Driven Design (DDD) to make your applications more robust and manageable. While the concepts shared in this webinar are applicable to all OOP languages, it used a set of C# .NET modules to illustrate these concepts in a concrete way.
